How do I get a Therapy Place?

If you have a written autism diagnosis for your child, you can use this to apply for autism therapy from the funding body. You are welcome to use our contact form to get in touch with us so that we can add your child to the waiting list. As soon as we receive confirmation of funding, the therapy can start if capacity becomes available!

What happens Next?

As soon as you have sent us the initial information, the diagnosis and confirmation of cost coverage, you don’t need to do anything else. We will contact you as soon as we can offer you a treatment place.

What Factors Influence the Waiting Time for a Therapy Place?

  • Location (waiting lists vary depending on location)
  • Flexibility in accepting appointments (most families prefer an afternoon appointment, outside school hours. Unfortunately, we cannot fulfill this wish for all families)
  • Availability of a confirmation of authorization
  • Former children and adolescents as well as siblings are prioritized for therapy with us

Unfortunately, for the reasons mentioned above, no reliable statement can be made regarding waiting times.

Who is the Payer?

If your child attends school, the Youth Welfare Office or the Social Welfare Office in your place of residence is responsible for paying the costs. Otherwise, please contact the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR).

You do not yet have Approval from the Payer?

As long as we do not have written confirmation from the funding agency, we cannot offer a therapy place. For the time being, an email from the funding body stating that the costs of the upcoming therapy will be covered if a place becomes available is sufficient.

Do you have Approval from the Funding Body or are you Paying for the Therapy Yourself?

Your child will be placed on our waiting list. We will contact you as soon as a therapy place is available for your child.

At which Locations is Therapy Offered?

We offer therapy at the following locations:
Cologne, Brühl, Troisdorf, Bonn, Rheinbach, Sinzig, Vienna

How long does Therapy Take?

A therapy session takes place once a week and usually lasts 90 minutes. This time is arranged individually.

The need for autism-specific support is discussed at regular intervals in so-called aide-plan-meetings with the youth welfare office/social welfare office. How long the therapy is provided depends on the individual needs and the agreements with the respective funding body. As a rule, we provide therapy for at least two years.
